Within the scope of the “Safe Container” (Güvenli Kap) project carried out at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Zile Vocational School, an important step was taken to raise food safety awareness in rural areas. Under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Şeyda Öztürk, Advisor to the Social Youth Club, Belkaya Village in the Zile district was visited through a collaboration involving the Social Youth Club, Food Technology and Logistics Programs, and the Zile Youth Center. As part of the visit, local women gathered for the “Safe Container” training session. The training provided detailed information on the correct, safe, and hygienic use of plastic, wooden, and Teflon kitchenware commonly used in households. Attention was also drawn to the health risks associated with the misuse of these materials. In the project, where Food Technology Program students played an active role, practical information and daily applicable hygiene rules were shared with the participants. The project aims to reduce foodborne illnesses and long-term health risks in rural communities while promoting widespread awareness of food safety.
